The Maintenance Planner is a key member of the Maintenance Team and, as such, is responsible for the planning of preventative maintenance and ensuring work is performed without undue risk. The focus will be on building and maintaining a strong maintenance plan and delegating and scheduling work orders to achieve cost-effective results in accordance with machine PMs to optimize their performance. A key part of this role will be to plan out the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance work functions. This role is a full-time permanent position working Monday-Friday. 

What you will do as a Maintenance Planner: 

Ensure all maintenance work follows safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. 

Plan and schedule routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs. 

Ensure necessary resources (manpower, materials, tools) are available for maintenance activities. 

Work with maintenance supervisors, plant managers, and project managers to execute maintenance tasks without disrupting operations. 

Track the progress of maintenance tasks and report on performance, downtime, and reliability. 

Keep accurate records of maintenance plans, schedules, work orders, equipment histories, and logs. 

Participate in initiatives to improve maintenance efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance equipment reliability (, vibration analysis systems). 

Assist in budgeting for maintenance activities and control costs by optimizing resources and minimizing downtime. 

Experience and skills that will help you stand out: 

2+ years in industrial maintenance, ideally in sawmilling. 

Proven leadership and maintenance management skills. 

Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel). 

Knowledge of OSHA regulations. 

Experience with electronic maintenance programs (, MP2, EAM) is an asset. 

Ability to read and interpret business and technical documents. 

Ability to write reports and present information effectively. 

Proficiency in mathematical concepts and practical applications. 

Must lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally. 

Regularly required to stand, walk, handle objects, and talk or hear.
