About the role

The CDL Driver will perform duties associated with transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Covanta facilities and the client’s sites. Drives will be able to operate various equipment including vacuum tankers, trucks, vans, and flat beds.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate equipment following DOT regulations and company policies and regulations. Drive commercial vehicles to pick up safely and transport waste to a designated location while meeting scheduled appointments and following all DOT regulations. Ensure the placarding of the vehicle meets DOT regulations. Maintain paperwork, including expense reports, timesheets, vehicle inspection reports, manifests, and job sheets. Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Secure cargo prior to and during transit. Complete additional assigned duties.

Requirements:

High School Diploma / GED preferred. Must be 21 years or older due to interstate travel in a commercial vehicle and federal regulations. 2+ years of commercial driving experience. CDL Class A with Tanker endorsement required. HazMat endorsement is highly preferred but not required. Clean driving record. Ability to use a tablet for E-Logs. Abide by standard DOT regulations at all times.
