Position Overview:

As a full-time, tenure-track faculty member at FLCC, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students and our institution. We're seeking an equity-minded educator who is passionate about FLCC's mission, vision, and values and who is dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Essential Functions:

Teaching: Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in Physics and Engineering. Create an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported. Courses may be offered in a variety of delivery modes, including face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and hyflex formats. Advising: Provide academic advising and support to students, helping them navigate their educational journey and achieve their goals. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and revise curriculum that meets the needs of a diverse student population and aligns with the College’s standards and best practices Assessment: Assess student learning outcomes and use data to continuously improve curriculum, teaching, and learning. Institutional Service: Contribute to the collegial life of the institution through participation in committees, faculty development activities, and other service opportunities. Professional Growth: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in the fields of Physics and Engineering and enhance teaching effectiveness.

Qualifications:

A Master's or Doctoral degree in Physics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution. Experience teaching physics and/or engineering, preferably in a community college setting. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a supportive learning environment. Experience with various instructional modalities, including online and hybrid teaching, preferred. Willingness to teach at any of FLCC's campus locations (Canandaigua, Geneva, Newark, and Victor) and in various delivery modes as needed. Courses will likely be taught at both Canandaigua and Victor locations.

Benefits and Salary Range

Salary will depend on rank according to education and experience – Starting salary: Instructor: $56,132; Assistant Professor: $62,567. NYS Retirement or Optional SUNY Retirement Program SUNY Voluntary Savings Plan Comprehensive Health and Dental Insurance through Excellus BCBS FSA 10 sick days per year Tuition assistance at 4-year institutions
