As a Physical Therapist, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

Provide physical therapy to patients who have lost mobility, strength or functionality in facilities such as nursing homes, rehab centers, assisted living facilities, clinics and hospitalsWork with a team of physicians, nurses, CNAs, OTs and SLPs to provide excellent patient careAssist physician in evaluation of patient function and performance, as well as equipment needsConduct assessments, document progress and determine if therapy services should be modifiedAssist patient with exercises and hands-on therapy to manage pain and increase mobilityEducate patients and family on established goals, exercises and self-care to ensure progress

A few must-haves for Physical Therapists:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Program and active PT license in NJMinimum of 1 years of physical therapy experience in a medical facilityCPR certificationKnowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulationsGood clinical judgement, strong interpersonal skills, dexterity and compassion
