The Transplant Financial Coordinator ensures the effective financial operation of the Transplant Program at VCUHS, with emphasis on securing professional fees and providing assistance and support to VCUHS patients, physicians and hospital.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of three (3) years of previous patient scheduling/registration work experience in a healthcare settingStrong customer service skills and patient/customer centered focus in positive manner in all situations Experience PREFERRED: Previous work experience with Social Services Agencies and/or transplant services Education/training REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent Education/training PREFERRED: Coursework in medical terminology Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or closely related field Independent action(s) required: Independent decision-making related to financial arrangements required for transplant patients. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: On call 24/7 Age Specific groups served: All Physical Requirements (includes use of assistance devices as appropriate): Physical Lifting 20-50 lbs. Activities: Frequent bending, Walking (distance) Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, Reasoning, Problem solving, Hearing, Speak clearly, Write legibly, Reading, Logical thinking, Other: Decision Making Emotional: Fast pace environment, Steady pace, Able to handle multiple priorities, Frequent and intense customer interactions, Noisy environment, Able to adapt to frequent change
