RESPONSIBILITIES : Work with principals and event organizers to provide a high level of support and customer service for district and non-district contracted events. Be responsible for set up and tear down of district materials, seating, and equipment to meet the requirements of the assigned event. Provide full custodial and operational support during an event as it pertains to district facilities, property, and equipment. Work with event organizers to ensure the safety, security, and protection from damage of school district property. Work with Athletic Director and coaches to provide a high level of support and customer service for district and non-district contracted athletic events as detailed above with the addition of the following. Perform setup or assist in setup and teardown of athletic fields and courts including bleachers. Setup and perform basic troubleshooting of score clocks and announcing booths/tables and equipment. Perform half-time court maintenance. Assist concessionaires with facility needs. Clean concession facilities. Maintain cleanliness of indoor and outdoor bleachers and grandstands, including periodic power washing. Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner. Work varied hours to include nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Participate in building scheduling meetings. Perform all the duties of a utility custodian when not assigned to specific events. Adhere to safe work practices and procedures. Attend and participate in staff meetings, safety meetings, and related activities. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Graduation from high school or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience in school custodial work. Knowledge of general school cleaning problems; methods, materials and equipment used in custodial work. Operational knowledge of electronic score clock systems and amplified sound systems. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of desktop and web based email internet software. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word preferred. Possession of valid Washington State driver's license or ability to obtain. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; push and pull, and talk or hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions year round. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.
