Key performance areas

As a Global Project Management Specialist, you will be working with projects related information, data collection, and systems/technologies to support the Global Project Offices, engineering group needs, projects, and functions within key areas, as identified by the Manager, Engineering Projects, Project Management Office. The Project Management Specialist will be responsible for managing and standardizing a common way of working and platforms for information sharing and software/hardware efficiencies. 

This position will work with Project Offices located within in the global matrix organization and report to the Engineering Projects, Global Project Management Office.

The Engineering Project Management Specialist responsibilities will include:

Standardization of project reporting, working tools, global communication and information gathering Evaluation of hardware, software, and support tools applicable for Global Project Offices Support related to the project enquiry software, SharePoint, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and other software used within Global Project Offices Data collection and analysis support for Executive reporting requirements Standardization of demonstrations materials, forms, and procedures Support Global Project Offices with training classes on new software and ways of working Act as liaison between the Project Offices, Value Centers, customers, Support Centers, Production Units, and Front-Line Sales to resolve any outstanding issues during project managements execution and deliverables. Development and implementation of a common platform for project management and information sharing Works closely with front line sales to ensure projects are managed and prioritized to deliver business results Challenge the current way of working, promotes new initiatives and initiates action Virtual global collaboration skills in a MS TEAMS environment is critical Global interaction with Production Units, Distribution Centers, external suppliers, business Operations, and Value Centers

This is a field-based position, location is flexible. Minimal domestic and international travel is required for this position. 

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Business Management, or equivalent experience, with 2 plus years of project management experience or a similar role. You have a keen understanding of metal cutting processes and cutting tool applications and familiarity with the metal tooling industry is highly preferred. You possess relevant application knowledge, along with project and/or work flow experience.

You are comfortable working in a global, virtual and cross-functional environment, and have a strongly collaborative and flexible nature. You are self-motivated and adapt well to multi-tasking in order to meet strict customer deadlines. You’re detail oriented and possess a strong commitment to delivering quality solutions and services. Your analytical and problem-solving skills are strong, as are your computer skills.

The Global Engineering Project Management Specialist will also possess:

Exceptional statistical and data manipulation skills High level of proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Ability to work in a global multi-cultural team on complex projects System knowledge of SAP, PEMS, ESD, Dynamics, and other Project Management support software
