Position Overview: As the Lead Database Developer, you will play a pivotal role in leading our database development initiatives and driving the design, implementation, and optimization of our database solutions. You will lead a team of skilled developers, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality database solutions that meet the evolving needs of our data-driven organization. Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to a team of database developers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  2. Database Design and Development: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of database solutions, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
  3. Performance Optimization: Drive efforts to optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning techniques, ensuring responsiveness and efficiency for critical applications.
  4. Data Integration: Oversee the integration of data from various sources into the database, ensuring data consistency, quality, and completeness throughout the data lifecycle.
  5. Data Migration and Upgrades: Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss while maintaining data integrity and security.
  6. Security and Compliance: Implement database security controls and data governance policies to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  7. Monitoring and Alerting: Implement monitoring and alerting systems to track database performance and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and data loss.
  8. Documentation and Best Practices: Define and promote best practices for database development, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation to facilitate understanding and collaboration among team members.
  9. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to understand requirements and deliver database solutions that meet business needs.
  10. Mentorship and Development: Mentor and coach junior developers, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for skill development and career growth.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in database development, with significant experience in designing, building, and optimizing database solutions.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully leading database development teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles and techniques, with expertise in designing and implementing data models and schemas.
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques such as indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with database security, data governance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and optimize system performance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
