Mechanical Piping / Sheet Metal Estimator

Description: 

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping/Plumbing and Sheet Metal Estimator. The ideal candidate will perform take-offs and submit bid documents for systems, materials, and equipment according to project plans and specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work.
• Review plans and ensure final estimates are compliant.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and visit job sites for take-offs.
• Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Prepare estimates using estimating software.
• Coordinate with team members on larger projects.
• Ensure estimates are complete and organized.
• Develop innovative methods to improve competitiveness.
• Prepare clear and concise proposals.
• Maintain digital files of working documents.
• Coordinate with the operations team on successful bids.
• Provide post-bid support to field operations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical piping estimating.
• Experience with retrofit and new construction bidding.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Experience with estimating software (QuickPen, Est-MEP, FastPipe).
• Strong time management skills.
• Knowledgeable of commercial Plumbing/Piping and HVAC systems.
• Ability to build relationships with General Contractors (GCs).
