Overview

and Responsibilities

Summary:  As the Purchasing Manager, you will exhibit expertise in purchasing practices and commodity management. You will lead others to ensure that products meet quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost. Identify new suppliers, negotiate prices, analyze trends, and expedite orders for the site. All activity related to purchase orders, from issuance to payments, will be the responsibility of the Purchasing Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manage current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements. Implement methods, practices, and techniques to ensure the most economical movement of materials through the supply chain to achieve cost-effective logistics practices and inventory levels while meeting customer delivery requirements. Mentors, trains, and manages performance for all direct reports within the purchasing department. Own and manage all purchasing related operating and quality procedures. Ensure correct planning parameters and transaction disciplines are utilized within ERP/MRP system to drive correct order generation and inventory balances. Drive supplier accountability for DPPM, OTD, and cost-out to make sure TT is successful. Oversee the negotiations, analysis of quotations, and selection of suppliers for all production parts as well as assigned MRO purchases. Maintain accurate part costs records related to PPV reporting, standard cost creation and maintenance, and current cost ongoing updates. Resolve with Quality all supplier related quality issues, supporting the resolve of all CAR’s issued to suppliers by Quality department. Possesses expert knowledge in MRP systems, excel data analysis, and project management tools.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree Minimum 5 years of purchasing/supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience managing a team (preferably a procurement team). Prior electronics manufacturing or procurement experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Extensive MRP expertise and ability to build tools/processes to turn ERP data into actionable reports for your team to utilize. Expert negotiating and influencing skills. Self-motivated and ability to work proactively using own initiative.
