Job Overview

The SVP, General Merchandise Manager (GMM) holds a strategic leadership role. They possess the ability to develop the vision of multiple categories and execute the assortment plan by channel that aligns with the top-line financial plan. An entrepreneurial mix of visionary strategy development, exceptional financial business acumen, a strong understanding of merchandising, and the ability to lead a large team are all required for this position. The leader maintains a progressive, customer-centric approach while holding teams accountable for delivering on sales and profit objectives without operating in the tactics of the day-to-day.

What You Will Do

Develop strategic plans for the leader's managed categories to boost sales, profits, and customer experience. Build and sustain robust partnerships, both within the organization and externally. Take proactive steps to achieve business objectives. Demonstrate strong inspirational leadership to build a loyal following. Effectively manage a significant P&L, with responsibility for critical profit drivers. Possess comprehensive knowledge of Omni business operations, including marketing strategies, staffing, and financial management.

Merchandising Expertise: Strong comprehension of merchandising principles and strategies to drive sales and enhance customer experience.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated inspirational leadership, capable of building and leading large teams to achieve business objectives.

Partnership Building: Proficiency in establishing and maintaining robust partnerships both within the organization and externally.

Proactive Approach: Ability to take proactive measures to drive business results and navigate changing market dynamics.

Omni Business Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Omni business operations, including marketing strategies, staffing, and financial management.

Customer-Centric Focus: Progressive experience in consumer and lifestyle-oriented companies with a focus on creating emotional connections with customers.

Market Analysis: Skill in understanding market share opportunities, competitive landscape, and leveraging business trends and customer data.

Transformational Leadership: Dynamic leadership style with a passion for driving organizational change and leading teams through ambiguity.

Talent Development: Track record of advocating for talent development and building engaged and highly functional teams.

Collaborative Communication: Strong ability to establish trust and build relationships across all levels and functions of the organization and with external partners.
