Provides oversight for remote and in-person monitoring of patients with cardiac implantable devices. Ensures an orientation plan for new pacemaker technicians; provides timely feedback; evaluates need for staff education/training schedules in-service/training as needed; serves as liaison with physicians and management team. Performs various functions related to implanted cardiac device clinic day-to-day management. Reports any findings and/or changes to the physician and/or RN.

Minimal/No Potential Reports to expand_more Reports to RN Practice Supervisor, RN Practice Manager and/or Director of Clinical Operations Supervises expand_more Supervises Pacemaker Techs l & ll Ages of Patients expand_more Ages of Patients Adult Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens expand_more Blood Borne Pathogens Minimal/No Potential Qualifications expand_more Qualifications Education Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree; Successfully pass the ATI Jumpstart Course within one (1) year of hire Preferred: Bachelor's degree in applicable field Licensure/Certification Required: American Heart Association BLS Preferred: American Heart Association ACLS Experience Required: Three (3) years of clinical experience in the field of cardiology and/or electrophysiology and one (1) year experience with direct exposure in a Cardiac Device Clinic setting Essential Responsibilities expand_more Essential Responsibilities Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and reports suspected violations. Conducts all related software and hardware updates, as well as manages the maintenance, optimization, and upgrading of all implantable cardiac device platforms, including integrations with electronic medical records. Works under the supervision of a provider and/or RN, performing in-clinic cardiac device checks, including interrogation and troubleshooting. Reprograms cardiac devices and defibrillators as appropriate based on test results and reports the findings to the physician. Provides new implant patient education and device evaluations. Generates, evaluates, and triages cardiac device reports for physician review. Performs an independent daily review of remote transmissions from the devices under the supervision of an RN. Interprets device analysis and notifies the physician and/or RN of any abnormalities or changes in the patient’s status. Ensures that all clinical and remote device check data reports are documented timely and entered into the Paceart database. Processes and ensures correct billing/coding for testing performed. Ensures an orientation plan for new staff members, provides timely feedback, evaluates the need for staff education/training, schedules in-service training as needed, and serves as a liaison with physicians and management.
