Are you passionate about designing cutting-edge medical devices and technologies that have the potential to transform patient care and healthcare outcomes? Do you have the expertise to integrate engineering principles with biological and medical sciences to solve complex health challenges? If you’re excited about pushing the boundaries of healthcare technology and improving lives through innovation, our client has the perfect opportunity for you. We’re looking for a Biomedical Engineer (aka The Innovator of Medical Solutions) to develop next-generation medical devices and technologies that improve diagnostics, treatment, and patient care.

As a Biomedical Engineer at our client, you’ll work closely with medical professionals, researchers, and product designers to create innovative solutions for healthcare. From developing medical devices and implants to creating sophisticated diagnostic tools and healthcare software, your work will have a direct impact on enhancing the quality of life for patients and advancing the field of medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Develop Medical Devices:
  • Create and refine medical devices and systems, such as prosthetics, implants, diagnostic machines, and surgical instruments. You’ll ensure that these devices meet clinical standards, are safe, and improve patient outcomes.
Collaborate with Medical and Research Teams:
  • Work closely with physicians, surgeons, and healthcare researchers to understand clinical needs and translate them into innovative engineering solutions. You’ll ensure that your designs are aligned with real-world medical applications.
Conduct Simulations and Prototyping:
  • Use computational models and simulations to test medical device designs before prototyping. You’ll build and refine prototypes, ensuring that they meet safety, efficacy, and regulatory standards for clinical use.
Work on Implantable and Wearable Technologies:
  • Develop cutting-edge wearable health monitoring devices and implantable medical technologies that provide real-time data for patients and doctors. You’ll work on optimizing these devices for comfort, durability, and precision.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure that all medical devices and technologies comply with relevant healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, CE marking). You’ll develop safety protocols and testing procedures to ensure devices are safe for clinical use.
Optimize Biomedical Systems for Performance:
  • Focus on improving the performance, reliability, and accuracy of biomedical systems. You’ll work to make sure that medical devices function efficiently in clinical settings, from hospitals to home care environments.
Integrate Software with Medical Devices:
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate software systems with medical devices, ensuring that data from diagnostics, monitoring, and treatments can be easily accessed, processed, and analyzed in real time.

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Biomedical Engineering Expertise: Strong experience in the design, development, and testing of medical devices and technologies. You’re skilled at applying engineering principles to solve biological and healthcare challenges.
  • Medical Device Design and Prototyping: Proficiency in designing and prototyping medical devices, including experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and 3D printing. You’re familiar with materials used in medical devices and understand the importance of precision and safety.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare regulations and standards such as FDA approvals, CE marking, and ISO standards. You’re experienced in navigating the regulatory environment to bring medical devices to market.
  • Wearable and Implantable Technology: Knowledge of designing wearable devices and implantable technologies, with a focus on patient comfort, data accuracy, and long-term reliability.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with medical professionals, researchers, and software engineers. You can explain complex engineering concepts to healthcare teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience in medical device design and development is highly valued.
  • Certifications or additional training in medical device regulations or healthcare technology (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA approval processes) are a plus.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in biomedical engineering, with hands-on experience in designing, prototyping, and testing medical devices or healthcare technologies.
  • Experience working with healthcare providers or in clinical research settings is highly desirable.
  • Experience in developing wearable medical devices, prosthetics, or diagnostic tools is a plus.
