PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Work involved in loading, unloading, and accounting for goods delivered to and or distributed from the warehouse or from another location. Assists in all warehouse functions as directed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED preferred Valid Class B Texas Drivers License CDL Ability to read and write and have communication skills necessary to converse with various types of persons.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work. Must have general knowledge of delivery and accounting practices in warehouse function. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must maintain a valid Texas driver's license and insurable driving record. Ability to maintain labor and material records as required. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and building occupants.

Experience:

Three years warehouse experience preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Work as directed in tasks involved in delivery of supplies, food, and equipment and accounting of same. Work in all phases of warehouse operations as directed. Manages assigned work orders, maintaining material and labor costs applied to each job. Is accountable for supplies purchased or issued. Responsible for care and maintenance of assigned vehicles and tools. Responsible for meeting performance standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized facility and work area. Always act in lead position as assigned. Carry out all duties in accordance with BISD Board of Education policies and administrative regulations. Maintain a high personal standard in the following areas: attitude, cooperation, dependability, judgment, initiative, self-improvement, and as a role model for students.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

 EQUIPMENT USED:

Vehicle, ladders, dollies, scaffolds, pallet jacks, hand tools and computers

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands

Maintain emotional control under stress Work with frequent interruptions

Physical Demands

Medium lifting with minimum floor to knuckle lift of 75 lbs. Substantial amount of walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and squatting some shoveling Operation of a motor vehicle

Environmental Demands

Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures, and exposure to excessive humidity Exposure to a small amount of fumes from silicone, glues and adhesives, dust, noise, solvents, grease, and oil Working with ladders, scaffolds, and personnel lifts Working around moving parts of machinery and electrical hazards May be required to work nights or protracted hours

** The State Board for Educator Certification will require all first-time applicants for an initial credential to be fingerprinted as part of a national criminal background check. A cost of up to $49. 00 will be charged for fingerprinting.
