Summary:Metalico in Youngstown, OH is seeking a skilled Commercial Tire Technician to mount, dismount, and repair semi-truck tires in the shop or on the road.
  • The work will be year-round, Monday – Friday, in the Youngstown/Warren area.

Essential Job Functions:Will perform the following:
  • Mount and dismount semi-truck tires.
  • Change flat tires in the shop or on the road.
  • Respond to on-the-road service calls.
  • Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
  • Conducts daily service checks of equipment, and utilizes the work order process if maintenance is required.
  • Operates equipment when unloading customers or loading prep racks safely, and as instructed by their manager.
  • Keeps management aware of any incidents, accidents, and discrepancies with the material.
  • Keeps car prep staging and work area well organized and safe.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

  • A valid driver's License and clean driving record are required.
  • Mechanical experience of 1-2 years is preferred.
  • Ability to work inside or outside as required.
  • Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits.
  • Punctual and reliable; good attendance required.
  • Ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
  • Must be willing to follow and participate in Metalico’s Drug-Free Safety Policy.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands listed below are some but not all of what’s required of this job. 
  • Lift and replace semi-truck tires.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Standing, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and grasping.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate hand and power tools.
  • Lifts to 80 pounds from the floor to waist level and can carry such objects for at least 30 feet.
  • Physically able to participate in training and meetings.

Work Environment:
The work environment is listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Outside work in the Yard is where temperature and weather extremes (heat, cold, rain) may be encountered.
  • Work will take place in an industrial environment, with noise, dust, and fumes.
  • The noise level in the work environment can be moderate at times.

Work Hours:
  • Monday through Friday, 40-hour work week, Saturdays, and overtime required as needed.
