Position Summary:Responsible for provision of structured groups and activities utilizing therapeutic tool and focusing on self-awareness, self-expression, coping strategies and social interaction. Therapists are also called on to use more generic skills in the provision of overall unit activity planning. Patients present with various psychiatric diagnoses, in addition to other developmental or neurological issues which impact their daily functioning. Works closely with Director of Integrative Therapies and Directors of assigned Service Units to assure patients are receiving therapeutic services which meet their needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete Integrative Therapies Assessment on all new admits to assigned units in accord with facility policy.
  • Select and implement therapeutic activities to meet patient’s emotional, cognitive and social needs, particularly in the areas of social skills, coping strategies and self-expression.
  • Document results of assessment and treatment in accord with facility policy, and in a way that reflects the individual’s specific performance.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary treatment plan for each assigned patient in accord with facility policy.
  • Establish a schedule which allows for each patient on each assigned unit to be seen the required amount of times per week.
  • Complete and file assessments, treatment plans and progress notes within required time frames.
  • Work well with leadership, co-workers both within and outside of the department, and affiliates.
  • In conjunction with unit staff, plan, coordinate and provide unit/program/facility activities for holidays and special events.
  • In all interactions with patients, co-workers and facility visitors, be caring, helpful, available, mindful and polite.
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Appropriate certification (MT-BC or CTRS)
