V2X is growing and the company is currently seeking a Project Engineer to support our dynamic programs under the Transportation Solutions Portfolio. This individual will join a team responsible for lab and field evaluations of cutting-edge security technologies that will help TSA and their stakeholders address existing security gaps/concerns for critical infrastructure, mass transit systems, major event venues, etc. The candidate will also assist the Air Cargo team with trainings, acceptance testing, and other tasks related to air cargo security technology. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to help improve the nation’s security posture by evaluating the capabilities of new technologies and helping TSA stakeholders understand how to best apply them to specific challenges.

Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer will support all phases of technology evaluations including market surveys, attending vendor demonstrations, assisting with procurement, delivery, installation, integration, networking, testing, documentation, and other tasks as directed by the Project Lead.

The position is a hybrid role, expected to primarily work at the V2X office in Harvard, MA and/or the V2X test facility in Ayer, MA, with the ability to work remotely for part of the work week, subject to change as program needs dictate. The individual will also support project deployments including demonstrations, installations, test events, and trainings at customer facilities nationwide. This position is expected to travel approximately 35% on average, subject to change based on program needs. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role are as follows:

Participate in new and ongoing technology evaluations at the V2X Harvard, MA office and Ayer, MA test facility. Participate in new and ongoing technology evaluations at TSA stakeholder facilities across the country. Participate in meetings and demonstrations with technology vendors virtually and in person across the country. Participate in Air Cargo projects including acceptance testing, trainings, and other related tasks. Training will be provided. Conduct research, interface with vendors to understand technology capabilities, and document information effectively/as directed. Collaborate with team members in person and virtually to understand project needs, contribute to project planning, and ensure project execution is accomplished efficiently and accurately. Provide ongoing support for project implementation, including troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets. Develop deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the security technology field. Gain knowledge and experience that develops subject matter expertise across a wide variety of related systems and sensors. Maintain project documentation and update as necessary, including equipment inventories, site drawings, wiring diagrams, etc. Contribute to a safety culture that prioritizes employee safety across all work assignments and locations. Other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

0-3 years of experience in an engineering role. Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, computer science, or related field. Good written and oral communication skills. Strong ability to learn new systems, processes, and procedures. Attention to detail. Experience working on multiple simultaneous projects; ability to prioritize tasks and accomplish project goals. Must be capable of passing background investigations for credentialing purposes as required. Must be capable of protecting sensitive customer, vendor, and company data according to established procedures. Must be able to travel 35% of the time on average, subject to occasional fluctuation. Must be able to occasionally work outside of traditional work hours if project needs dictate. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite of software, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Must be a citizen of the United States.

Required Education:
