Equipment Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of all company equipment including small equipment, trucks, earth equipment, paving equipment, and batch plants. The supervisor is also responsible for managing mechanics in the field and shops. Effectively mentor, motivate, and discipline employees to maintain a positive working relationship within the department. Participate in a positive working relationship with other department within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Always maintain a safe and positive attitude towards co-workers though out the day
  • Daily huddles in the morning for stretch and flex and direct employees on what to do and where to go.
  • Assisting with mechanics in troubleshooting and repairing equipment
  • Ordering parts, oils, grease, etc. Working with vendors on parts.
  • Making list on broke down pieces and working with superintendents on maintaining the equipment.
  • Schedule and prioritize equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure all equipment is inspected and ready for work.
  • Ensure that inspection deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all paperwork is turned in on services and maintenance done to equipment.
  • Ensure a safe and proper use of the equipment.
  • Ensure all invoices are coded properly and sent to AP.
  • Assist with tracking equipment location.
  • Support job project needs for equipment and coordinate moves.

Other Responsibilities

  • Quality assurance tracking, receiving and reporting.
  • Safety support and planning work with Health and Safety Personnel.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Working conditions
    • Office/Shop environment. Includes some exposure to hazardous materials requiring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Noise levels are site specific and may be subject to PPE.
    • Will have exposure to different weather conditions.
  • Physical requirements

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; used hands to handle/feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Qualifications
    • Heavy equipment mechanic for 5 years
    • Knowledge of Electrical and hydraulic systems and schematics
    • Knowledge of Engines and transmission on heavy equipment
    • Computer knowledge
