Position Summary

Work will primarily be conducted in the Museum of SouthwesternBiology’s Division of Mammals, but there may be an opportunity for field-basedmammal work as well. The work will be data-intensive and will includedata entry/transcription of natural history collection data. This will requirelocation and retrieval of museum specimens from natural history collectionholdings and data transcription from specimen labels, field datasheets,collection catalogs, or digital records. Other assorted curatorial duties willalso be required, such as maintenance and operation of thedermestarium, preparation of museum specimens, osteoscribing, processing andmatching of skeletal material, cataloging, specimen installation, data entry,database verification, geo-referencing, and assistance on field researchprojects. Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Seeking a degree in Biology Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet use Completed courses in or knowledge of mammalogy, general vertebrate zoology, or museum science Understanding of relational databases Awarded work-study for the current school term Able to work approximately 20 hours/week.
