Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of underground storage tank systems to assess structural integrity, corrosion, leaks, and other potential hazards.
  • Utilize specialized equipment and testing methods to measure tank levels, monitor pressure, and detect the presence of contaminants.
  • Inspect piping, fittings, and associated equipment for signs of deterioration or malfunction.
  • Document inspection findings, including photographs, measurements, and test results, in detailed reports.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with tank owners, operators, and regulatory agencies to address any deficiencies or violations identified during inspections.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions and preventative maintenance to mitigate risks and ensure safe operation of underground storage tank systems.
  • Stay informed about advancements in inspection techniques, technologies, and regulatory changes related to underground storage tanks.

  • Previous experience in environmental consulting, tank inspection, or regulatory compliance preferred
  • Knowledge of underground storage tank regulations, including EPA regulations (40 CFR Part 280), state regulations, and industry standards (e.g., API, ASTM) Preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with inspection techniques, equipment, and testing methods used to evaluate underground storage tank systems. Preferred but not required
  • Certification or licensure as an underground storage tank inspector (e.g., ICC UST Inspector Certification) Preferred but not required
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, and repair any compliance-related equipment
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules, travel to work sites, and stay overnight as needed
  • Ability to climb ladders and access confined spaces as necessary to conduct inspections
  • Driver's license and clean driving record 
  • Able to pass a background check 
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
