Responsibilities : Assists the bus driver with the safety, movement, management and care of the students while boarding the bus, leaving the bus and being Ensures proper loading and securement of wheelchairs and other equipment as required. Maintains student behavior on the bus and communicates with parents as Refers infractions to the appropriate personnel. Assists the bus driver in teaching bus safety rules to students. Keeps a log of all activities on the Assists the bus driver with post-trip student checks after each route following District procedures. Completes training and reports as Possesses a working knowledge of all bus safety Performs emergency evacuation Maintains external and internal cleanliness of bus for safe and comfortable Assists driver with updating route sheets and student rosters for accuracy. Remains familiar with the assigned bus route and stop locations. Performs other duties as

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Language Skills: Must have ability to read and comprehend job specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position specific manuals. Must have ability to write correspondence and reports. Must have ability to effectively articulate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Mathematical Skills: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Reasoning Ability: Must be able to facilitate the problem solving processes. Must have ability to synthesize workable options from given facts, and assist in the development of workable solutions. Technical Ability: Must have considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job specified technologies.  Customer Service Skills: Must be able to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, students using tactful yet effective skills. Must collaborate well with others and display a cooperative attitude. Must be service oriented and actively seek ways to assist others.

Professional Requirements: Must serve as a role model to students. Appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards required.

Travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations is required.
