Job Summary:

Radiology Technologist works under the direction of a Radiologist, performing a variety of routine and complex diagnostic radiology procedures for the purpose of diagnosing abnormalities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Positions, explains procedure and sets technical factors for the appropriate examination. Performs routine radiographs of skull, chest, pelvis, spine, abdomen and extremities for diagnosis of abnormalitiesReceives and evaluates physician orders with patient history and information.Assist radiologist in fluoroscopy and spot film examinations which require administration of contrast material: e.g., gastrointestinal series, barium enemas, pyelograms, joint injections and cholangiograms. Prepares contrast media and administers to patient. Operates fixed and mobile radiographic equipment. Coordinates patient information with PACS and EMR to save data and radiation dose.Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

Graduate of an AMA approved radiology program required.

Experience

1 year preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

Basic life support certification required.Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology (R) required.Illinois Emergency Management Agency certification to perform Radiology required.

Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge in anatomy and image critic preferred.
