2024 Intensive Care Unit Fellowship Program - Start Date September 30, 2024

NCH is committed to the growth and development of nurses within our health system, plus opportunities for new graduates and experienced acute care nurses outside of the NCH to apply to the Critical Care Nursing Fellowship.

To support a nurse’s development in critical care nursing, NCH has developed a fellowship program that supports transition to practice throughout the year. The program is 12 weeks (new grads 16 weeks), consisting of in-class education, computer modules, simulation, and precepting within the critical care department of both campuses.

For the September Fellowship application, the window is open now through June 29th 2024.

If selected, panel interviews will be conducted at the end of July 2024.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates with Critical Care experience that will not be entering fellowship program

· Minimum of 1 year of experience in critical care.

· Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.

· BSN strongly preferred.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

· Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Candidates WITHOUT Critical Care experience and New Graduates RN that will complete fellowship program

· BSN preferred.

· Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

· ALS certification will be obtained during the program.

· Required to sign a Fellowship agreement which includes a 2-year employment commitment to remain in Critical Care in a full-time position after completion of training.

· Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
