We are looking for a Claims Resolution Specialist to join our team The Claims Resolution Specialist will support the branch offices and the Corporate Claims and Legal teams to assist in the evaluation, investigation, negotiation, documentation filing, and collecting of cargo claims made necessary by the company’s exposure to carrier cargo claims. This position requires a great deal of direction and independent thought, as well as experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. If this is you, or you like a challenge– let’s talk.

You will

Receive and review cargo claims from branch offices 

Investigate the circumstances surrounding each claim, including reviewing documentation, interviewing involved parties, and assessing damages 

Document findings and maintain accurate records of claims status and resolution progress

Serve as the primary point of contact for our customers and carriers regarding cargo claims 

Communicate claim status updates and resolutions to relevant stakeholders promptly and professionally

Collaborate with all parties including carriers, drivers, shippers, receivers, and insurance companies to gather necessary information and documentation for claim resolution 

Negotiate claim settlements with carriers and insurers, striving to achieve the best possible outcome for our customers and branch offices 

Maintain a balance between advocating for our customers and branch office interests while attempting to preserve positive relationships with carriers 

Analyze claim trends and identify root causes of cargo damage or loss 

Develop and implement preventive measures to minimize future claims 

Stay up-to-date on relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements related to cargo claims Ensure all claim-related processes and documentation adhere to legal and regulatory standards 

Because of the nature of the job, this position is often required to be available on-call outside of normal work hours, throughout the night and/or weekends. In order to be of assistance to after hour callers, this role must possess specific knowledge acquired through experience. 

Skills and Experience

Experience in cargo claims adjusting 

1-3 years of first party physical damage claims in commercial trucking 

Strong knowledge of insurance principles, policies, and regulations

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, written and verbal

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environment

Requires excellent analytical, organizational and decision-making skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Strong Excel skills

Effective communication skills 

Excellent work ethic

Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask

Highly organized and detail-oriented
