Lindy Farms is a family-owned and operated farm based in Somers, CT. For the last 50 years, it has been dedicated to the principles and standards of Thoroughbred and Standardbred horse breeding/training/racing. Lindy Farm is committed to maintaining the highest care, maintenance, and health standards for the farm's horses and facilities.

Position Summaries:

The Maintenance position is responsible for the general care of buildings, fields, and fences as well as assisting with horse care when needed. This position works on a 48 hour work week.

Your Role:

• Maintain the general care of the farm, including various farm buildings, fencing as well as farm equipment.
• Assist in the maintenance of the pastures and cleaning of the horse stalls
• Help with livestock when needed.
• Day and overnight trips to other farms and training when necessary.
• Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal state, and local standards.
• Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs

Your Skills:

• Experience in a farm setting
• Multi-tasking abilities
• Good oral communication and organizational skills
• Basic computer skills
• Construction and Mechanic skills a plus.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license
• Have a good attitude and participate as a member of the team.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
