Position Title: Drywall Estimator
Gpac has partnered with an amazing and thriving Construction business in the Washington area that is looking to add a Drywall Estimator to their team
Responsibilities & Duties
Throughout a project, the Drywall Estimator will need to communicate with staff and clients, make decisions, and monitor the progress of the project to keep it on schedule. Important responsibilities for a Drywall Estimator include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed conceptual budgets from pre-construction, concept design, schematic design, and design.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs.
- Initiate and manage the bid process inclusive of the preparation of detailed bid packages and ensure accurate and proper submissions/proposals by all.
- Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Maintain quality service by following the organizational.
- Accurately scope all subcontract bids to ensure an accurate comparison.
- Maintain vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients.
- Interface with the field team by communicating deliverables and procurement.
Duties:
- Contract/Scope Review – Review contract documents, scope, drawings, specifications
- Project Documentation – organize and archive contract documents and project specific documents including certified payrolls, daily reports, transmittals, submittals, issues list, RFI, material orders, and invoices (accounts receivable and payable).
- Quality Control – develop and implement project specific Quality Control Plan, ensure subcontractors and in-house personnel adhere to strict quality control standards.
- Cost Management – establish a system for reviewing and managing costs to date and projecting costs to complete.
- Safety – Enforce Safety Plans, and establish and maintain clear communication with all related parties on specific project safety requirements.
- Field and Office Communications – always maintain open communication including site visits and utilizing PlanGrid as a form of communication.
- Training – Responsible for training/mentoring Assistant Project Managers.

• Ability to maintain composure, professionalism, and objectivity in difficult situations and effectively resolve conflicts.
• Ability to develop/maintain a positive working relationship with clients, the public, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Education
• Required: A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
• Plus: Certifications highly valuable include: Certified Project Manager (CPM)
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5+ years in a similar position that includes working with Drywall.
- 10+ YEARS without a degree
- 2+ years leading, developing, and motivating teams.
- Understanding of the strategic, operational, and financial components of a construction project.
- Experience managing projects successfully from start to finish.
- Skilled at developing and negotiating relationships with owners and trade contractors.
- Strong work ethic, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in commercial, government, and Drywall construction preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully overseeing projects.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations
- Ability to read and evaluate blueprints and relevant contract documents.
- Experience with construction-related software (i.e., Quick Bid and OnScreen Takeoff)
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software based on project requirements.
- Must hold a valid Drivers License
