Food Safety & Quality Technician

What your compensation will look like:

What your day will look like:

Support operations and quality by assisting in data collection, analysis, documenting FSQ activities, communication and guidance to ensure compliance with all company, customer, regulatory and BRC requirements Maintain a safe and clean working environment Follow all company safety rules and procedures Monitor GMPs in production and warehouse for compliance and record on approved form Perform Test & Measuring Equipment (scale, thermometer, moisture analyzer, etc.) calibrations and project assignments in a timely, safe and professional matter, report results, and issues to FSQA Supervisor Conduct incoming raw material inspection, verify and file COAs for incoming material, and other receiving documents. Inspect incoming raw materials in accordance with quality control procedures Inspect finished products and processing parameters to ensure compliance with customer’s specifications and manufacturing instructions. Generate COAs as needed and send to customer in timely manner Conduct the finished product label verification Notify production personnel of deviations in product quality. Place product on hold when necessary Conduct pre-operational inspection and collect microbiological swab samples for environmental monitoring, including but not limited to air, water, drains, and equipment surface Verify Preventive Control Points daily and ensure Food Safety daily checks are performed Coordinate, schedule and perform pizza bake off on weekly basis and conduct texture analysis when required. Measure, collect and enter data into spreadsheet for trending Maintain appropriate records of tests, inspection results and observations Maintain accurate records of QA hold products, retention sampling, foreign material incidents, non-conforming products, customer complaints, pre-op swabbing results Notify FSQA Manager, Coordinator/Supervisor and Plant Manager of unusual product observation, to assure potential quality issues identified, reviewed and resolved prior to release of product Assist in training new employees Other duties as assigned. Some examples could include things like: Organize and assemble daily records’ packets for Operations team and FSQ department Creating FSQ Talking-Points/OPL’s for shift huddles Various Improvement Projects : Creating SOP binders, Pack Room Quality OPL Responsible for record maintenance and follow-up of 3rd party lab results leading FSRA/GMP audits on their shift

What your schedule will look like: Currently hiring for Night Shift

Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Must be able to work up to 48 hours a week Sunday – Saturday 12 Hour shifts- AM Shift: 6am – 6:30pm PM Shift: 6pm – 6:30am You will be assigned to a crew that works in a rotating on-off pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off You will work 4 consecutive weeks of 48 work hours and then four consecutive weeks of 36 work hours, and then repeat. Pay averages out to 42 work hours or 44 regular pay hours a week over the 8-week work cycle. Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

What you have to offer:

Minimum of a high school education or GED For business and safety reasons, must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in written English. 1 years of food manufacturing experience 1 year of Quality Assurance experience preferred Ability to effectively communicate with all line level positions and management Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) and other computer skills Must be familiar with and able to use label printers, and measuring device equipment Scientific base of knowledge

Physical requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face mask, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment Must be able to work in cold environments 

Safety & PPE requirements:

Personal Protective Equipment: Hair net, ear plugs, steel toe slip resistant rubber shoes/boots, freezer suit, and warm gloves. Chemical resistance gloves and goggles when performing shut down or proper attire during sanitation cleaning tasks
