About the Role:

If you are interested in contributing to this kind of engaging work, we are interested in talking to you We are currently looking to add a Cook I to join our Cafe team. This team is dedicated to providing excellent food and customer service to every customer.

What you'll do:

Follow standardized Prep & recipes for all menu items including but not limited to: washing produce, using accurate knife cuts, measuring/portioning accurately, using prescribed cooking methods, cooling and storing Follow standardized plate presentations and portioning for all menu items including but not limited using prescribed portioning tools, china, to go containers Prepare special request items as directed by ticket, FOH staff or Culinary Supervisor Follow Allergy and Sensitivity Protocol accurately including, but not limited to replacing all tools, using alternate cooking methods, identifying plate as allergen specific to FOH staff for service Keep items properly labeled, dated, rotated and organized Ensure tools and equipment are changed as needed and kept clean Keep work areas clean and sanitized throughout shift Ask questions and listen attentively to ensure accurate transfer of information Involve Line Supervisor, Culinary Supervisor or Executive Chef in the event of information discrepancies

What you'll need:

Acquire and maintain a Utah food handlers’ permit Able to comprehend the concept of and maintain personal hygiene Execute standard cooking methods (saute, broil, bake, fry, steam, etc.) accurately, consistently and efficiently Execute standard knife work (dice, julienne, bias cut, etc.) accurately, consistently and efficiently Communicate professionally and effectively in person and on the telephone Able to accommodate special requests from guests Able to remain focused and diligent at all times Able to accurately receive and communicate information Maintain a calm and collected demeanor in stressful situations Able to recognize when help is needed and request it in a timely manner. Read and use standardized prep lists, recipes and plate presentations consistently and accurately Maintain proper food rotation practices to ensure freshness and wholesomeness of product Able to stand or walk through entire shift Can lift up to 50 lbs.

Bonus points for:

High School education is preferred 1 year line cook experience preferred
