Instructor of Education

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Teaching & Learning invites applications for the position of Instructor of Education. Faculty will be expected to teach undergraduate courses related to instructional competencies and educational methods, using face-to-face and distance education learning formats following best practices for effective teaching practices for each; supervise teacher candidates in clinical settings, advise teacher candidates, maintain regular office hours, participate in service to the University, College and community and other such assignments directed by the Department Head.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Earned master's degree (MED or MAT) or higher in Curriculum & Instruction or related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in methods and/or curriculum development courses from an accredited university by hire date
Must meet SACSCOC credentials to be able to teach the coursework
Teacher certification and 3+ years of experience teaching in PreK-5 settings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience teaching adults either in collegiate settings or providing professional development to teachers

Excellent oral/written and interpersonal communication skills
Commitment to personal and professional caring
Ability to cooperate with others to benefit students and the program
Ability to actively engage in program development, refinement and delivery
