Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with production, maintenance, technical supervision, and other outside departments to ensure environmental compliance and the safe functionality of the plant's operation and equipment maintenance.
  • Work on shift schedule (8-6 day shifts) to assist operations in project implementation and troubleshooting
  • Work on projects through all aspects of experimental design, engineering, forecasting, funding, construction, and commissioning.
  • Continue to develop automation of data collection
  • Provide technical assistance and analysis to process group stakeholders
  • Be familiar with strategic business planning and propose process improvements to maximize cash flow
  • Analyze metallurgical test work, plant performance, and laboratory data and provide recommendations to operational teams
  • Work with computers and associated programs like Excel, PowerPoint, Jigsaw, Pi, GoldSim
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or equivalent related degree required
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a metallurgical or chemical engineering role is required.
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods used in metallurgical and processing analysis, practical application, and process optimization experience are required.
  • Ability to research, analyze information and draw conclusions, take action to resolve operational environmental issues, permit compliance, and problem resolution from an operating plan status required
  • Proficiency in multiple software applications and network platforms preferred
  • Able to learn how to manipulate and analyze large datasets programmatically required
  • Ability to work in an operations-focused team environment required
  • Supervisory experience with contractors and operational teams is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
  • Proven safety record and ability to support workgroup in achievements of safety, environmental, and production goals required
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this position required
