Description

:Provides spiritual counseling and guidance to patients, families, employees and assist with arrangements of religious services to meet the needs of patients.

Work Experience:
Experience in managing staffs, developing spiritual programs, offering education related to spirituality to community and staff.

Education Qualifications:

Chaplain I-

Masters in Divinity degree or equivalent, ecclesiastical endorsement certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains or eligible to obtain required

Licensure/Certification Requirement:

Associate Membership in NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains) or APC (Association of Professional Chaplains) or NAJC (National Association of Jewish Chaplains) or SCA (Spiritual Care Association) is strongly preferred.

Special Requirement: Ecclesiastical endorsement: For a Catholic priest/minister or vowed religious by his/her superior and the local Bishop.

At time of hire and annually documentation from the chaplain’s religious tradition or endorsing body is required, and must indicate continued endorsement, good standing, or other affirmation of support as is appropriate to their tradition. 

Chaplain II -

Educational Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Divinity, Ministry or a related field, or three years professional experience in related field, necessary to gain understanding in the relationship of pastoral care to medical care. A graduate degree in Theology, Divinity, Ministry or a related field counseling, or some other job related field is preferred. Successful Completion of 2 ACPE accredited CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) units is required at the time of hire. Completion of an additional 2 ACPE accredited unit is required within 24 months of hire.

Licensure/Certification Requirement:

Associate Membership in NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains) or APC (Association of Professional Chaplains) or NAJC (National Association of Jewish Chaplains) is strongly preferred.
