Hire Up Healthcare is assisting our acute client in Brawley, CA, to find their next NICU RN Manager   We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced NICU RN Manager to oversee the operations of the unit and lead our team in delivering exceptional care.  Salary is up to $135K/year, with relocation assistance available  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Staffing: Stay informed of staffing needs, coordinate patient care assignments, and contribute to performance management. Ensure optimal staffing levels aligned with budget and necessary skill sets.

  • Departmental & Organizational Leadership: Collaborate with management, represent the unit in hospital-wide meetings, and lead productive staff meetings. Serve as a role model in clinical expertise.

  • Systems Approach: Participate in policy development, demonstrate a deep understanding of clinical situations, and mobilize resources as needed. Contribute to system improvements and problem resolution efforts.

  • Education: Direct clinical nursing practice, assess and coordinate critical care education and competency of nursing staff. Oversee parent education programs and discharge planning activities.

  • Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, evaluate current practices, and make recommendations for improvement. Support staff in professional development and educational initiatives.

  • Quality Improvement: Develop and achieve unit-based goals, oversee performance improvement activities, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend and implement changes based on best practices.

  • Clinical Expertise: Independently provide nursing care in the NICU as needed. Uphold high standards of patient care, participate in performance improvement activities, and manage complex clinical cases effectively.

  • Administrative Duties: Organize and lead staff meetings, ensure compliance with regulations and standards, control costs, and engage in ongoing professional development.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
  • Conduct skills fairs and provide counseling and documentation for personnel issues objectively.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with departmental procedures.
  • Promote team cohesion and assign tasks based on expertise and skill level objectively.

Requirements:
  • Current California Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Two years of management experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Two years of NICU clinical experience, with one year in a Regional, Community, or Intermediate NICU preferred.
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
  • Specialized training in NICU nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with JCAHO, Title 22 Standards, Hospital, and Nursing Policies.
