JOB OPPORTUNITY

JOB TITLE: Library Aide

LOCATION OF POSITION: Wingland Elementary School

TERM/HOURS OF POSITION: 5.75 hours per day;

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Maintain a system for checking books, educational materials, and equipment in and out of the library; keep card catalog current; shelve and repair books and magazines; track lost books; organize a library learning environment; assist in ordering new books; maintain a professional library for teachers; schedule classes in library; assist students and teachers in the use of library; operate the library before school and during student recess; and work with student and parent volunteers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to work with children, teachers, and volunteers; knowledge of library procedures; ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Two years of study at an institution of higher education, or an Associate's or higher degree, or pass a formal state or local academic assessment that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics (or reading, writing, and mathematics readiness).
SALARY: Range 5, Step 1 - $16.00 per hour (and an additional .32 cents per hour in lieu of benefits)
