5 Rewards of Being a Nurse at Crowne Health Care

Nursing is a lucrative and rewarding career, but most nurses agree that finding your niche is the key to happiness on the job. Maybe you haven’t quite found your forte in the field yet, but at Crowne Health Care, we believe that working with the elderly provides many rewards that you just can’t find in any other sector of healthcare.

Here are 5 rewards of working with the elderly at one of our many Crowne Health Care locations:

1. You make a difference.

Although you would make a difference in any sector of healthcare as a nurse, you truly make a profound difference in the lives of your residents when you work at Crowne Health Care. Because our residents at Crowne need so much attentive care in their daily activities, you are the person who helps them retain their dignity and independence in the latter stages of their lives. It is truly such a reward to know that you took a day that could have been very difficult and turned it into a day full of joy, fun, and peace.

2. You're appreciated.

In many sectors of nursing, your day-to-day life can be really tough, and you may go for weeks without any sign of appreciation from your residents. That is not the case when you work for Crowne. Our residents care a great deal for their care staff, as they are often interact with nurses more often than their own families. Every little thing that you do at Crowne makes a huge impact on the quality of life for our elderly residents. It’s one of the best feelings to be appreciated, and at Crowne, you can be sure that you’re valued for all you do.

3. You can learn from your residents.

Many of our residents have lived full and interesting lives before they took up residency at Crowne, so listening to their stories and experiences give you knowledge that you’d likely never accrue in a different nursing position. Their memories can give you wonderful insight into a different time and can enable you to understand more about history as well as the human experience from another point of view. Most people who work with elderly residents agree that this is one of the most rewarding factors of their job.

4. It gives you some perspective.

We all live such busy lives that we hardly think of what’s to come in our own futures, but working at Crowne really puts into perspective what it’s like to age and how to prepare for what’s to come when we do grow to be senior citizens. We take for granted so much in our lives, but working with our special residents teaches you to not only appreciate your independence but also helps to hone your ability to empathize with the elderly people who share our demanding world.

5. It's a BLAST

Working with our residents takes your ordinary day and makes it extraordinary At Crowne, we have regular activities to get involved in, some great events to enjoy, and—best of all—we have the pleasure of working with some truly fantastic and funny individuals Our residents come up with hilarious jokes and riveting stories that can keep you entertained for hours. What’s more is that they truly enjoy the time they spend engaging with you. We want our residents to get well, go home, and have a blast during the process Unlike many other nursing positions, you’ll leave each day with a funny or touching moment when you work at Crowne.
