Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.Development, implementation and execution of inbound transportation systems, processes, analysis and reports that will provide the lowest landed cost of North American goods and meet the inbound transportation service requirements of Family Dollar and Dollar TreeWork closely with the functional inbound transportation teams and supply chain leadership to fulfill their analytical and systems requirements
Principal Duties and Responsibilities - The primary tasks the associate will perform during his/her work scheduleEffectively communicate, implement and support all domestic inbound transportation systems, programs, procedures and policies Develop effective automated solutions and processes that improve transportation efficiencies by gathering team and company requirements; augmenting existing tools or sourcing new solutionsDevelop and execute testing plans of IT systems upgrades, equipment changes or new implementations of locations or systems to reduce risk to the department and organization systems and processesCollaborate with finance to determine project ROI’s and budget impact; to include project after action reportsSupport system / data disaster recovery to ensure business continuityRepresent inbound transportation in IT business solutions meetingsOrganize and prioritize workload and tasks to ensure proper flow of operational and tactical information in accordance with business requirementsDraft and execute SQL database queries and interpret results for business requirementsLeverage Alteryx for data manipulation and Power BI or Looker for visual displaysEnsure the proper level of communication and customer service response by the analyst teamContinuously research emerging and existing technologies for process enhancementsComplete other various assignments, as required
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer systems, business analytics, mathematics/statistics, supply chain or comparable fieldTwo years of systems and analytics work experienceMust love data and perspective that data insights provide operationsPossess an ability to conceive, develop and implement new ideas, procedures and processes whether organically or though staying attune to new technologies and proceduresShould exhibit initiative, dependability, ability to work with minimal direct supervisionStrong operational and financial analytical skills, the ability to think critically and problem solveAbility to work well with people at different levels within and outside of the companyStrong organizational, administrative, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage numerous projects simultaneouslyMust possess qualities of integrity, discretion and strong work ethicUnderstand EDI processes and applicationMicrosoft Office Suite of applications (Work, Excel, .PPT, Access) experienceAbility to read, understand, and write SQL

Be sure to mention in your application.Masters degreeThe ability to track, trace and troubleshoot EDI transactions and interfacesAdvanced Excel/access experienceKnowledge of transportation software applications from an operational and functional perspectiveExperience or education in statistics and/or financial reportingPractical working knowledge of Oracle Transportation Management System or Manhattan ActiveExperience with Alteryx, Power BI/Looker/Tableau visualization toolsExperience with API connectionsTransportation work experience with a multi-billion dollar organization Experience in retail industry and/or large transportation company
