UCT is looking for a talented Intern Manufacturing Engineer to join us in Hayward, CA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials to be able to create Manufacturing ready documentation such as S.O.E.’s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow. Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates the Manufacturing Engineer portion of the system build. Prepares and/or modifies work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum. Ensures proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects. Requires contact with Customers, vendor representatives. Attends and participates in Customer meetings. Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices in an effort to streamline build processes and procedures. Inspects completed systems; partners with Manufacturing and Quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards. Supports project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget. Investigates customer or internal issues determines the nature and extent of the problem and recommends corrective actions. Assists in cost estimations and development of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs. Evaluates and process Engineering Change Orders. Performs other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred. Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment. Knowledge of electronic Work Instruction software is a plus (i.e., Sequence). ERP System Software Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis in Excel. Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success. Good interpersonal skills: ability to work alone or in a team environment.Educational/Certification Requirement :
Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing, or related field preferred with 2 years of experience in related manufacturing/ production position; or Associate of Arts (AA) in a technical field with more than 5 years of manufacturing experience.Experience Requirement:
Work Experience: 5+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry. Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environmentPhysical Demands and Working Conditions: This section is required for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $20.18 and $26.83/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including variable pay and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO (Paid Time Off) and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
