Sociology Instructor

Full-time faculty member provides leadership, management, planning & coordination of instruction of students in teaching college courses in Sociology, participate in curri-culum & instructional material development, assessment functions to include program learning outcomes & student learning outcomes, student advisement responsibilities, enrollment & registration, student recruitment & retention activities, participate in college outreach activities, college committees, community service, & other assigned duties. Participate in departmental, division, & college planning sessions in actively reaching & communicating the college's mission & goals, & professional development activities.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsFaculty teaching associate degree courses designed for transfer to the baccalaureate degree: doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline, Sociology, or a master's degree or higher with concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline-Sociology) from an accredited institution of higher education.
Preferred QualificationsPrefer dual credentials to teach in both Psychology and Sociology, and prefer experience in teaching at a two-year college.
