Summary

This position consists of 36 hours per week. Mental Health Tech II are essential members of the Psychiatric, Recovery, and Addictions Care Team by conducting technical and supportive care functions. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred License/Certifications: Active certification in good standing on the State of Maine CNA Registry is required. Current BLS/CPR certification or obtain within one month of hire. Current workplace safety training within six months of hire. Experience: One year experience working in a healthcare setting - or current enrollment in a healthcare field of study preferred; 6 months experience working in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred. Demonstrates knowledge of signs and symptoms of complex types of psychopathology, e.g. dissociative and substance abuse disorders. Demonstrates knowledge of basic medical and psychiatric terminology. Articulates an understanding of appropriate approaches with individuals experiencing significant psychological illness. Utilizes principles of workplace safety training in dealing with violent behavior. Share:
