Mesa Seeks a Transmission Line Senior Engineer - to work remotely - who preferably resides in the eastern U.S. to serve our customers in this region.

We are currently hiring/performing work in the following states: Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Possess aptitude for computing and design.

Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Possess good interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment. Possess willingness to accept responsibility for technical adequacy of all output. Possess working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and software used for specific technical applications within the department. Possess willingness to develop, promote and comply with Mesa safety requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS : Normal office environment /occasional field trips to plant sites requiring ability to walk and climb stairs or ladders in a plant or industrial setting

Education/Experience/Licensure

• A four-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited college/university

• Minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

Responsibilities

•Works under the direction of Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers.

 •As a fully competent Engineer, independently evaluates, selects and applies engineering principles and practices relevant to the project requirements.

 •Works with the Engineering Manager and Project Manager to define project objectives, prepare design estimates, and define project requirements and design approaches for large or complex projects.

 •Capable of acting as Lead Engineer on single discipline projects or smaller multi-discipline projects, responsible for determining design approach and working with design team to prepare required design documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, calculations, etc.).

•Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a routine project.

•Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

•Capable of preparing and verifying calculations using engineering formulas and skills or application specific software as required.

•Manages personal task assignments, and for designated projects manages assignments of other design team members to ensure adherence to scope, schedule and budget.

•Must be capable of directing project design teams comprised of engineers, designers and technicians on a single project.

•Monitors project execution milestones and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule.

•Performs technical and coordination checking/ review of deliverables and other project documents. Ensures deliverables comply with Business Unit procedures and meet applicable design requirements.

•Follows up on construction issues with design staff to resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner.

•Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel is exercised on an assignment basis and is not an on-going substantial component at this level.
