POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, Finance provides direct oversight for the operational, quality, human resource, and financial management of the Accounting Department and Decision Support. They provide analysis, input and recommendations to the Chief Financial Officer on matters related to finance and strategic planning (inclusive of long and short term financial, capital, operational, managed care and strategic planning, capital accumulation, revenue generation, information systems, financial review of new programs and services and expense management). They coordinate the services through leadership and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Medical Center. 

The Director, Finance consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees. 

Significant components of this position are:
* Analysis and interpretation of financial results and identification of opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost savings.
* Provides oversight for development of annual operational and capital budgets.
* Provides guidance to the leadership team to ensure accounting policies, processes and reports are consistent with GAAP, FASB and the goals of Enloe Medical Center.
* Provides guidance as needed to the leadership team to ensure the annual financial audits, pension audits and 990 tax returns are correct and timely.
* Communicates financial concepts and results, and opportunities to diverse audiences.
* Provides financial and strategic leadership in all areas of decision support including, service, new business opportunities, physician recruitment and managed care.
* Identifies and assists with implementing process improvements within Accounting and Decision support.
* Provides leadership on reimbursement issues including interpretation and implementation of new regulations.
* Partnership with clinical colleagues on usage and cost management, and developing strategies and support to maximize all cost report and government appeals.
* Provides strategic and financial leadership to support cost accounting to include accurate cost finding and allocations.
* Strong project management and process thinking to instill an environment of accountability and quality improvement.
* Mentors and coaches staff and organizational leadership to increase financial acumen across the organization.
* Responsible for bond covenant monitoring and annual disclosure. Assists with rating agency reporting and relationships.
* Provides dept of understanding of GAAP and GASB to ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Understanding of accurate reporting for self-insured liabilities including Pension, Malpractice and Workers Compensation.
* Supports physician alignment strategy to include analytical and operational support of physician reimbursement and expense management.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
- Ten years progressive financial experience, flexible depending on complexity of such experience.

Desired:
- Master's degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or Certified Public Accountant (Active CPA status not required)
- Healthcare experience
- Membership in a professional organization and attendance at conferences regarding management.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate leadership ability. Must have knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements. Must have knowledge of current financial management practices, legislative activity, and trends in the healthcare industry. Must have knowledge of and a demonstrated ability in strategic planning, quality improvement processes, and human resource management. Must have the ability to accurately analyze complex financial and accounting data with extensive knowledge of financial management to include cash flow, IBNR, ROI, debt financing, cost/benefit and portfolio analysis, as well as a clear understanding of accounting practices, financial analysis and modeling, cost controls, reimbursement, contract management, and cost structure management. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must have the ability to motivate, delegate, analyze information, problem solve, and make decisions. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. Ability to work well under pressure. Must be a proven change agent and enjoy the challenge of fixing problems rather than maintaining the status quo. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center core values. Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
