RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all OSHA requirements Assist Director of Children’s Services with the development of program goals and early childhood activities. Assist in preparation of lesson plans in compliance with ACD regulations. Create a nurturing and supportive environment for children. Implement various early childhood educational, recreational, and social activities that foster development and growth. Engage children in team building activities. Assist an individual child or group of children with dressing and toilet training, change diapers and ensure sanitary conditions. Provide classroom management. Attend regular staff meetings. Attend training sessions and workshops on early childhood education. Meet monthly with program coordinator and/or program director for supervision. Act as a liaison with parents. Perform additional duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in education or early childhood education. At minimum of four years of experience working within an early childhood education setting preferred. Bilingual skills in English/Spanish is a plus. Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills are essential. Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.PYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Excellent time management and communication skills. Good writing skills. Ability to work with infants and preschool children from ages of 0-5 years. Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time. Ability to climb five flights of stairs. Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents. Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent countries via public transportation.
