POSITION SUMMARY

ED techs are employed to take care of patients’ everyday needs. Conducts personal care duties such as bathing, dressing, and feeding patients, as well as brushing teeth and combing hair. Helps patients in and out of bed, often by lifting or carrying them, and assist them with walking. Answers patients' calls for help, take their vital signs, and monitor their behavior and physical condition for progress or deterioration. Works under the supervision of an experienced nurse, and reports any problems or worsening in a patient's condition to the facility staff. Other job requirements may include stocking and keeping storerooms tidy and cleaning patient rooms.

OVERVIEW

The evaluation is to assure individual performance, departmental goals and organizational goals are aligned. It is designed to support communication between the manager and the employee. Employee perception of their own performance is very important. To maximize the benefit of this process, both the manager and the employee participate in the evaluation process.

Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide direct care to patients under the direct supervision of licensed personnel as evidenced by: Observes and reports patient's status and call lights and attends to/reports patient weights, vital signs and reports glucometer testing and report specimens and transport to and sends through designated patient Intake/Output including oral intake only, measured urine output, and measured urinary catheter output after patient with ADLs including cleansing of perineal area and patient with feeding/ patients with elimination , moves and repositions occupied/unoccupied with admissions, transfers and with post mortem care including transport to the up simple 1-1 observation as assigned.

EDUCATION AND COMPETENCY

Attends all mandatory and department-specific education and training programs as required.
 Attends all required education and training and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job related hazards.
