About the Role

Join Graham Capital, the dynamic project development and financing arm of Graham. We're seeking a Development Manager to play a pivotal role in our team. You'll work alongside our Associate Directors, contributing to our key goal: securing and delivering profitable, low-risk projects in collaboration with Graham’s Infrastructure and Buildings divisions, utilizing a variety of Public Private Partnership and structured project financing models. Your role involves identifying potential projects, strategizing pursuits, and leading competitive proposals. Post-award, you'll act as Graham Capital’s development lead, and manage the technical, commercial, and financial requirements of the project to ensure it is a success.

This position will focus primarily on multi-key residential projects, long-term care facilities, and building retrofits in our Canada and US markets. The work location is flexible and open to a hybrid working arrangement, given that work will support various offices across our established markets.

Your experience in the construction industry (5+ years preferred), excellent communication skills, and networking prowess make you an ideal fit. This role isn't just a job—it's a career development journey, enriched with extensive mentorship and opportunities to enhance your business acumen in the construction sector. We offer a flexible working arrangement, allowing you to balance professional growth with personal needs. Join us to shape your future and Graham’s delivery of exciting project finance opportunities.

As a Development Manager at Graham Capital, you will:

  • Conduct research and develop market intelligence to inform our strategy across various geographic regions and asset classes.
  • Lead market and business development activities to help with the origination of projects for our business.
  • Work closely with our Infrastructure and Buildings construction teams to ensure a well-aligned and coordinated approach to project pursuit, capture, and delivery.
  • Develop project capture strategies and lead the preparation and delivery of proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Actively manage and execute key development activities on our projects, completing a wide variety of tasks to keep projects progressing on time and on budget.
  • Provide input on design, entitlements, construction, commercial risk, cost estimating, and scheduling during project development and execution.
  • Contribute at the highest level to Graham’s financial performance for the benefit of our unitholders.
  • Professionally represent Graham in various public forums, including conferences, client meetings, and presentations.
  • Provide other support to our Associate Directors and Directors as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree in engineering or business is required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant construction industry experience in project pursuit and delivery.
  • Extensive working knowledge of project management, commercial management, and project finance.
  • Familiarity with full-lifecycle project delivery, including pre-pursuit, bid, execution, and closeout.
  • Deep understanding of our markets in the Buildings and/or Infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong work ethic and ambition; desire to be part of a small, high-performing team.
  • Good commercial acumen, strong client focus, and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good networking skills and a willingness to participate in various industry events and forums.
  • Creative thinking; an ability to generate workable solutions to problems.

If this sounds like you, then Graham may be the right fit. Apply today.
