Machinist II Second Shift

What is the Position?

Develop programs for computer-based numerically-controlled equipment to perform unique and innovative operations program. Perform multiple complex set ups and operate a variety of CNC or hybrid machine shop equipment to extremely close tolerances and maintain critical finishes. 

What are the key responsibilities?

Achieve and maintain appropriate Operator Authorization(s) as required. Set up fixture components for jobs that require CNC machining and manual machines Set machine origins in accordance with the set-up instructions Work to machine dimensions and maintain close tolerances and correlated dimensions with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelism Set and load all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobs Work from basic blueprints, material requests, methods sheets, or other written work instructions. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments, inspect in-process or finished parts and feature characteristics as well as manufacturing methods to blueprint specifications. Train other Machinists as needed on job related assignments. Receive material requests daily and provide material cut to required lengths. Maintain accurate records of all material supplied. Basic computer knowledge to perform labor transactions, and other required functions.

What Education and Qualifications are needed for the job?

Basic computer knowledge to perform labor transactions, and other required functions HS Diploma or equivalent- completed apprenticeship or technical degree 3- 5 years experience
