Job Purpose :

This position will be responsible for performing various functions related to the collection and loan servicing process. This position maintains the bank’s interest for delinquency and losses through effective early stage collection and loss mitigation strategies. 

Job Duties :

Responsible for making outbound phone calls on delinquent accounts to establish payment arrangements with customers. Responsible for fielding incoming calls regarding past due loans. Conduct collection activities for various areas within the organization as assigned; such as consumer loans, direct or indirect portfolios, loss recovery, etc. Identify, evaluate, and resolve reasons for delinquency to reduce loss to the organization. Establish excellent rapport with customers. Deliver superior customer service with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help. Utilize skip tracing to establish early direct contact with borrowers. Organize and document returned mail that is received by the department. Assist and interact professionally with internal associates in a variety of departments. Comply with applicable internal policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements. Utilize Peoples Bank collection software to keep detailed notes of customer interactions. Will perform special project as assigned.

  Education, Job Skills and Qualifications :

Associates degree; one to two years banking and/or customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Notes, Word, and Excel). Excellent communication, listening, problem solving, and negotiation skills. Capability to perform independently and manage time efficiently. Positive and professional attitude. Outstanding customer service skills and best practices. Proven team player.

Basic Qualifications :
