POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing Human Resources related duties on a professional level and work closely with HR and Operations Management. This is a hybrid position requiring working 2 days a week in either the
Herndon, VA or Moyock, NC office and 3 days working remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as liaison with client groups including Managers and Employees to administer HR related policies and activitiesManages employee data changes in HR Information Systems for timely and accurate updates to personnel recordsProvides first-level coaching to client groups on general management issues such as performance, tardiness, and policy enforcement. Refers higher level employee relations issues to appropriate staffParticipate in and may lead departmental initiatives and projectsAssists employees with personnel information and interpretation of policies and proceduresMay assist with or lead presentations such as New Hire Orientation, HR All-Hands meetings and other HR training for the organizationLiaison between HR, Benefits, and Payroll for personnel actionsRun reports and analyzes data from personnel records and prepares reports on an ongoing basisWorks closely with other HR Generalists and assists with department projects and trainingAssists with continuous improvement of the HR TeamMaintains confidentiality of all personnel information and recordsOther duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMust provide evidence of U.S. Citizenship to comply with contract requirementsMinimum one year of experience in HR related field requiredProficiency with MS Office requiredExperience with HRIS, Deltek, Costpoint and ADP preferredEffective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organizationStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completionProblem solving skills with an analytical thought processAbility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
