Anesthesia Technician
Responsibilities:
- Assists Anesthesiologist by setting up equipment and preparing various intravenous medications as directed.
- Tests and maintains anesthesia equipment; orders, stocks and maintains supplies and medications.
- Washes and sterilizes re-usable equipment and anesthetic machine.
- Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
- Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Re-stocks anesthesia carts using designated par levels.
- Assists in cleaning anesthesia equipment when cases conclude each day, ensures state of readiness for next OR day.
- Ensures adequate supplies are maintained on anesthesia carts and contacts Manager, Anesthesia Technicians if discrepancies are identified.
- Works cooperatively with other members of Anesthesia Technical Support Team and Material Management Staff to avoid potential supply inadequacies and address immediate deficiencies.
Job Qualification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Anesthesia Technician Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
