SUMMARY

The CNC Setup position is responsible for set up, operation, and adjustment of CNC equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Set up, operate, and adjust controls on CNC in accordance with specifications, production drawings, production procedures, and oral instructions. Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary. Inspect workpieces for defects, and measure workpieces to determine the accuracy of machine operation, using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and height gages. Assist with the training of machine operators to ensure the product meets customer requirements. Perform minor CNC program edits, as required. Act as a Quality Assurance for the Fabrication Department. Assist in the training of final inspection personnel and, perform final inspections of parts as needed. Examines documents, materials, and products to monitor work processes and assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. Record production data including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and location of materials. Maintain a safe work environment by overseeing employees make certain MIOSHA, safety rules and regulations are followed. Must be able to interact in person with peers and managers Must be able to handle high stress situations Performs other related duties as assigned.
