Overview

The Senior Client Services Manager (Events) maintains and expands relationships with our key customers. Assigned to high profile, complex corporate events ranging from mid-to-large revenue, the Senior Client Services Manager (Events) is responsible for leading overall planning, budgeting, and execution while achieving key strategic objectives. They will work in tandem with all internal departments to ensure the successful execution of their assigned event.

The Senior Client Service Manager (Events) fully understands and represents the entire array of company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by GES.

The Senior Client Services Manager (Events) reports directly to the Associate Director of Client Services.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee corporate event production, providing overall pre-show planning and development through on-site execution at various facilities across the country Proactively lead a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for the contractual period and beyond Strategic liaison with show organizer/agency partners, facility staff, production personnel, internal clients, and ancillary vendors regarding all services, building working partnerships with all Work cross-functionally and lead collaboratively with internal teams across LOBs (business development, operations, design/creative and beyond) to manage event and address customer needs Develop and manage project timelines, agendas, and workflows with clients Proficient financial acumen including comprehensive budget management, time and materials billing, and estimating/quoting prices for complex products and services Meet or exceed financial plan goals on assigned event, closely coordinating with Finance team to ensure revenue and costs are identified and accurate Able to collaborate with internal key players across the country as well as produce in any region based on core job knowledge and experience Thorough understanding of GES products and services and ability to sustain influence on customer decision-making Own and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) beyond the department LOB Identify risks and opportunities and develop solid action plans to address Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis Capable of creating and/or adapting processes for complex clients Achieve strategic customer objectives and maintain high customer satisfaction ratings – measured through Show Organizer Survey results Ability to effectively participate and present in RFP process (influential in resigning and/or gaining new business) Represent GES at industry association functions as needed (IAEE, PCMA, etc) Proficient in all GES internal SOPs, processes and platforms Drive process improvement projects, either assigned or initiated This position may require management of assigned support staff on an event. Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position under the direction of the Associate Director of Client Services

Qualifications

College degree preferred 7-10 years of experience in tradeshow production, corporate events, or related agency and/or official services contractor experience 5 years of sales experience Experience working with various graphic substrates and different exhibit systems such as Octanorm, beMatrix, and Agam preferred Strong budgetary management and negotiation skills Must be extremely detail oriented and able to use time productively and efficiently Excellent organizational skills Resourcefulness – must possess innovative problem-solving and decision-making skills Flexible, energetic, and able to multi-task while navigating rapid turnaround times Top notch communication skills, both oral and written Self-motivated with ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Proficient in multisystem management Ability to foster customer relationships and client retention Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Able to read and interpret technical drawings a plus Ability to adapt to multiple settings and shifting responsibilities

Work Environment

Potential Travel 50%+ Remote position, but to be located within an hour of a GES facility Requires ability to adapt to multiple settings and shifting responsibilities Must be able to work under pressure Opportunity to work nights, weekends, holidays as required, and at showsite Position may require long hours during several months of the year Typically performs work on the event floor, in noisy and crowded areas Frequently encounters uncomfortable temperatures, dust and/or other conditions Requires working both alone and with others in a team atmosphere Requires working with union and non-union employees
