JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our physical therapist private practice as a Patient Care Coordinator. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice by providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. We are specifically looking for someone who thrives in a team-oriented environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Scheduling: Coordinate and manage the scheduling of patient appointments, ensuring efficient utilization of therapists' time and maintaining an organized appointment calendar.
- Front Desk Operations: Greet patients, check them in, and provide necessary paperwork. Collect and verify patient insurance information. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about our services.
- Insurance Coordination: Verify patient insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries. Collaborate with insurance providers and ensure accurate billing and claims processing.
- Patient Support: Assist patients in completing necessary forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Act as a liaison between patients and therapists to address any concerns or questions.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with physical therapists and other team members to facilitate effective communication and ensure a seamless patient experience. Collaborate on treatment plans, progress updates, and discharge planning.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain patient records and documentation in compliance with privacy regulations. Manage patient files, organize paperwork, and input data into electronic health records (EHR) systems. Assist with general administrative duties as needed.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with relevant educational materials and resources. Communicate treatment plans and instructions from physical therapists to patients, ensuring they understand their care and are equipped for at-home exercises or follow-up appointments.
- Previous experience as a patient care coordinator or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, therapists, and other staff members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage patient scheduling, records, and administrative tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
